Island Peak - 21 days

Island Peak is Very easy to climb. Especially for the beginners, the peak is apt to give a try.

About Island Peak:

It is known fact that the prime summits in Nepal are lying in the northern part of the nation, which is dominated by Sherpa people. After landing at Lukla, we start our trek. The very day, we will lodge at Monjo and then after having lunch in the next day, we reach Namche Bazaar .Namche Bazaar is regarded as the gate way of Mount Everest. We gradually enter the magnificent Gokyo valleys, a land of high altitude lakes and icy glaciers. after crossing Chhukuma La at 6183m.We will experience Chhukuma La Pass and proceed towards Everest Base Camp , view Kala Patthar at 18,192ft (5,545m.). Our route descends to Dignboche and gently goes to Chhukung valley and Island (Imja Tse) Base camp.

We will make an attempt to summit the peak which is 20,305ft after one night rest at the high camp perched on the South West Ridge. Magnificent vistas of the Khumbu region can be speculated. On the way to the base came, we can have snapshots of Chhukung valleys' landscape, Mt. Everest, Mt. Makalu Mt. Lhote (over 8,000m) and many other mountains. Island Peak is very easy to climb. Especially for the beginners, the peak is apt to give a try. Our journey will come to an end at Lukla .From Lukla, we fly back to akathmandu.

Day 01: Fly to Lukla early in the morning (2827 mtr. 45 minutes flight) and then trek to Phakding (2/3 hours walking). Over night at lodge.

Day 02: PHAKDING – NAMCHE (3440 miters. 6/7 hours.). Over night at lodge.

Day 03: Fully day acclimatization and explore to climbers museum, Sherpa culture museum and visit to monastery.

Day 04: Visit Thame monastery and back to Shyangboche (3850 mtrs. 6/7 hours) Over night at lodge.

Day 05: NAMHE-DHOLE (6 hours 4130 miters.). Over night at lodge

Day 06: DHOLE – MACHHERMO (4 hours 4520 miters.). Over night at lodge

Day 07: MAHHERMO – GOKYO (4 hours 4860 mtrs.) Over night at lodge.

Day 08: Wake early morning, climb Gokyo peak (5480 mtrs). Back to Gokyo, Over night at

lodge.

Day 09: Early morning walk to Chola Pass (5430 mtrs 8/9 hours) Over night at Zhongla (5060 mtrs) Over night at lodge.

Day 10: Trek to Labuche (5 hours 4860 mtrs.) Over night at lodge.

Day 11: VISIT KALAPATHAR and EVEREST BASE CAMP (4 hours 5545 miters) Gorakshep. Over night at lodge.

Day 12: Trek to Dingboche (5/6 hours 4230 mtrs.) Over night at lodge.

Day 13: Trek to CHHUKUNG (3/4 hours 4730 miters.). Over night at lodge ( You will be meeting your climbing guide and check all the equipment.

Day 14: CHHUKUNG – ISLAND PEAK BASE CAMP (6/7 hours 5130 mtrs.). Over night at tent

Day 15: ISLAND BASE CAMP TO HIGH CAMP (Imja Tse) (5/6 hours. 5820 mtrs.). Over night at tent.

Day 16: HIGH CAMP SUMMIT PEAK (Imja Tse) (6189 mtrs.) back to Chhukung over night at lodge.

Day 17: CHHUKUNG – THYANGBOCHE (3869 mtrs. 6/7 hours.) Over night at lodge.

Day 18: THYANGBOCHE – NAMACHE (5 hous.). Over night at lodge.

Day 19: NAMCHE – LUKLA (7/8 hours). Over night at lodge.

Day 20: LUKLA fly to KTM. (45 minutes flight.). Over night at lodge.

Day 21: Transfer to International airport and Departure to onward journey.

Prices for each trek and tour depend on the number of persons in a group, types of accommodations and other factors. Please let us know your specific requirements so we can provide you the most competitive price estimate possible.

  • Sleeping bag, warm to 20 degrees F, either down or fibrefill (or you can rent one in Kathmandu)
  • Parka, down or fibre fill; a ski jacket is ok

  • Duffel bag, canvas or nylon, without a frame (for porters to carry)
  • Daypack or rucksack, waterproof, for you to carry
  • Water bottle 1 liter or 1 quart; be sure that it does not leak

We INSIST that an appropriate insurance policy is taken out which covers travel in isolated and mountainous areas, and which also includes helicopter rescue.
We recommend that you consult a reputable travel agent or insurance specialist.

Health Issues
We recommend that all clients consult their doctor to discuss the health issues associated with their trek. We also recommend that clients bring their own personal first aid kit to supplement the comprehensive first aid kit carried by the Trek Leader

Vaccinations Required
Please ensure that you allow at least 1 month to complete a course of vaccinations. Whilst your personal doctor will be the final authority,
