01

Day 01: Kathmandu arrival

Our company representative will pick you up from the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu (1400m). You’ll be driven to your chosen accommodation(15-20 min ride to Thamel) and stay their overnight to get rid of your jetlag.

Day 02: Kathmandu to Syabru besi

Your journey begins with a 9 hour scenic ride from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1460m). As you wind up, you’ll approach the untouched villages on the banks of Trishuli river. You get the view of enchanting panorama of the Himalayans including Manasulu, Annapurna, Ganesh and other peaks of Langtang region. Relax and stay overnight in the lodge.

Day 03: Syabru Besi to Lama Hotel [2748m]

After an early breakfast, you’ll navigate the ridge on Syabrubesi’s main road and soon reach Ghopcha khola where your trek finally starts. The trails cuts across stream and bridge giving the splendid view of cultivated fields and dense forest with variety of plant species like oak, maple, alder, bamboo as well as animals including red panda, Himalayan black bear, wild boar, yellow throated martin, langur monkeys. Gradually on ascend you came across suspension bridge at 2000 meters. On the way to north bank of Langtang khola you get spectacular view of cascading waterfall that opens into scrub oak forest. You continue your trek to Lama Hotel village(2748m) to conclude the trek for the day.

Day 04: Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang village [3500m]

Next day continue your trek along the steep trail. On ascend you get great sights of Langtang Lirung(7246m) and then enter the lush meadows of Ghora Tabela(3000m) and colourful forest. Furthermore, wide valley of yak pastures, scattered Tamang villages with flat roofed Tibetan style houses, water mills and prayer wheels reckons your arrival to Langtang village(3500m).

Day 05: Trek Langtang village to Kyangjing gompa [3800m]

You’ll continue your uphill climb crossing pastureland and interesting traditional villages of Muna to Singdun. You can take short break to have lunch and, cross the wooden bridge and descend to glacier moraine. You can enjoy the sight of Kinshung and Lirung icefall. On ascending the mountain passes, you reach Kyangjing Gompa(3800m). You can visit monastery and pass several mani walls.

Day 06: A day for rest in Kyangjing gompa

Today is the rest day. You will be staying in Kyangjing Gompa to familiarize with the air and then explore the beautiful village surrounded by mountains. After breakfast, hike up to Kyangjing Ri (4350m) where the serene beauty of nature spreads along the route. It is a bit tough climb. After returning to village you can visit famous cheese factories. Finally bunk out at your lodge for the night.

Day 07: Trek Kyangjing gompa to Lama Hotel [2784m]

Next day you will head back to Lama hotel. As we retrace our steps passing through the lush forests and crossing bridges, you arrive to Lama hotel. Spend the night in there experiencing warm hospitality from the villagers.

Day 08: Trek from Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru [2130m]

Have breakfast and get back on the trail to Thulo Syabru. As you head down and cross the Langtang river, you can continue the journey through the bamboo and birch forests and rhododendrons. After walking for hours you reach the last stop for today, Thulo Syabru(2130m). You may explore the culture and custom of Tamang people. Its a great experience interacting with local folks. You can relax in the sun savouring the beauty of Himalayans.

Day 09: Trek Thulo Syabru to Sing Gompa [3254m]

The next day take uphill trail at each junction and cross another forested ridge where you can see Thurman and Nagthali. The trail continues across the head of second valley, Forpang Danda and then reaches a final ridge(3650m). Finally about 100m along the trail to the left lies Sing Gompa(3254m) which is the main attraction at Chandan bari. It is a great place to hang around and immerse one selves in the views of valleys and landscapes.

Day 10: Trek from Sing Gompa to Gosainkunda [4336m]

Today is a short trek to the beautiful serene lake, Gosaikunda lake(4336m). On slow ascent through moist mountain forests on north and dry scrub vegetation on south there lies compelling views of Himalchuli, Ganesh Himal and Manasulu to the west. As well as fantastic view across Langtang valley to Lnagtang Lirung. Eventually the trail descends to 3 lakes: Saraswati Kund, Bhairab Kund and Gosaikunda Lake (holy Shiva’s lake). It is a place of pilgrimage. On walking forward you arrive at Gosaikunda village where you can rest for the night.

Day 11: Gosainkunda – Tharepati [3490m]

Now the trail first descends then begins to ascend through the lush rhododendron forests until you reach Tharepati(3490m). After quick break for lunch and refreshment, climb down to lower altitude. On the way, you see settlements of cattle herders(mud houses and hut) as you cross a stream. Stay overnight at lodge in Tharepati.

Day 12: Tharepati – Kutumsang [2446m]

Next day your trek starts with a decent crossing through the meadows and cultivated fields. Along the route enjoy the magnificent views of Langtang mountain. After you arrive at Pathi Bhanjyang and Gul Bhanjyang, take a short break then climb a ridge to another pass. Another downhill trek from the pass, you reach your final destination for today, Kutumsang(2446m).

Day 13: Trek from Kutumsang to Chisopani {2300m} – 2-3 hrs

Today is relatively easy hike of 2-3 hrs from Kutumsang to cross a pass(2470m) before descending to Pati Bhanjyang, a large Tamang village. A short distance from Chisopani(2300m) lies a high knoll known as Chisopani Danda where there is a temple. You will have grand views of mountains spreading from south of Everest to Manasulu range.

Day 14: Chisopani – Kathmandu

After enjoying your time in Chisopani, head towards the entrance to Shivapuri watershed and wildlife reserve. The trail goes through the reserve moving up to the hill and down tge Mulkharka from where you can clearly see Kathmandu valley. From Mulkharka, descend the endless stairs to the exit from the reserve. Then drive back to Kathmandu. Enjoy an hour drive reviewing the beautiful sceneries. You can spend the evening exploring Thamel’s market after relieving your exhaustion.

Day 15: Final Departure
