Tashi Lapcha Rolwaling Trekking Overview

The Rolwaling valley is geographically based in the east-central region of Nepal; close by to the Tibet border. The region has a few dotted Sherpa villages where the living conditions are as harsh as the beautiful terrain. The Rolwaling Himalayan range covers some well known peaks that include Melungtse at (7,181m/23,559ft), Melungtse II at (7,023m/23,041ft) and Gauri Shankar at (7,134m/23,405ft), with some other 50 additional peaks still not up for grabs by the Government of Nepal. Trekking hereabouts requires the true spirit of adventure which throws up some tough challenges for anyone who wants to go for it. The trek is a great adrenaline push on Nepal’s Himalayas. It goes across one of the highest passes of the world, the Tashi Lapcha Pass at (5,755m/18,881ft), which takes you into the Khumbu Valley, making this trek most popular among mountain lovers. ‘The Rolwaling Tashi Lapcha Trek’ is a rugged venture that promises natural beauty at its true best…

The tough hiking goes mostly uphill and the paths are strewn with dense foliage forests, making it tremendously taxing. The journey also makes up one of the premium break points that can be undertaken throughout the Himalaya. One of the greatest attractions of the trip is bunking out in the camp beside Bigu Gompa (Nunnery). Hiking across the green pasture lands and tapered valleys gives trekkers the first experience of flowing mountain scenery in the course of our journey. The sublime trails are a great chance to view the real wilderness…

The varied flora and fauna and the rich local cultures are a great source of what mountain traditions are like. This is one zone where trekkers do not need to worry about meeting up with many other trekkers; most backpackers would not want to dare the challenges that come when hiking in this area. So it’s only you, Mother Nature and glorious views of the Himalayas as we discover gushing waterfalls, the Tso Rolpa Lake, serene monasteries and stunning landscapes. The Rolwaling trek takes us into inaccessible and striking parts of Nepal as we hike into charming sherpa, Tamang and Chhetri villages ticking with life as we see them tilling their terraced fields, and the dark primitive forest and lengthy airy bridges with wonderful views give us an outing we will never forget. Family Adventure Treks will be your escort on this jagged venture of epic beauty…
