Itinerary of Pikey Peak Trek
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Hotel
The moment you land in Nepal after a long flight from your home country, your 7-day Pikey Peak Trek adventure begins immediately. You will feel the lively atmosphere in Kathmandu. A car will be dispatched to collect you at the airport terminal. Our staff will be waiting for you at the terminal with a sign showing the company’s name, so you can readily recognize us.
They will drive you to your three-star hotel in Thamel, Kathmandu. Thamel is the most popular tourist attraction in the city, with spas, massages, and restaurants nearby, as well as the Garden of Dreams, Asan Tole (Market), Basantapur, and Dharahara.
If you arrive in Nepal before evening or late afternoon, we will visit some of the Kathmandu Valley’s UNESCO-listed heritage sites and learn about the cultural heritage and history. Day 2: Picturesque long-hour drive from Kathmandu City to Dhap
Today, get ready early in the morning for your 7-day Pikey Peak Trek itinerary. After breakfast at the hotel, our private vehicle will transport us to the bus station, where we will board a bus to travel to Dhap village. The bus will drive along the Araniko Highway, leaving the Kathmandu Valley and then taking the BP Koirala Highway.
The first part of the journey will be smooth until we reach the remote villages of Nepal. We will pass Banepa, Dhulikhel, and Khurkot on the way. Riding in a local bus will provide you with stunning views of terraced farmlands, river valleys, hill roads, and little settlements. The bus will drive across the Sunkoshi and Tama Koshi Khola rivers.
When we reach Okhaldhunga, the road will be hilly, adding 2 or 3 hours to our travel to Dhap. From Kathmandu, it will take a total of 7 to 8 hours to reach our location, as per the itinerary of the Pikey Peak trek cost package. Upon reaching Dhap Village, you will be warmly greeted by the Sherpa people.
Dhap is a calm town located at a height of 2,850 meters in the lower Everest region of Nepal, enveloped by lush green forests, grasslands, and spectacular scenery. The village can be said to be the starting point of the trek to Pikey Peak. You will be accommodated in a twin-sharing basis room to spend the night.

Day 3: Trek to Jhapre from Dhap
On this third day of the Pikey Peak trekking journey, our destination today will be Jhapre village, sitting at an elevation of 2920 meters. We will move from Dhap after eating the first meal of the day with a hot tea or coffee in the teahouse. The journey will take you past beautiful rhododendron trees on its way to Sigane Village.
Trekking allows you to enjoy expansive views of snow-capped mountains and other breathtaking surroundings.The journey has a few ups and downs till we reach Dhapre. As you approach the settlement, you can enjoy the breathtaking views of Numbur Himal and Mount Everest.
After traveling for four to five hours from Dhap, we will arrive at Jhapre Village and spend the night in the teahouse. The community has a lovely stupa and monastery, which lend a cultural touch to the area. You can also get a taste of traditional Sherpa living while you’re in the village.

Day 4: Trek to Pikey Peak Base Camp from Jhapre
On this fourth day of the 7-day Pikey Peak Trek itinerary excursion, our next stop would be the Pikey Peak Base Camp. We will begin the hike early in the morning after having a tasty breakfast in Jhapre. We will trek uphill toward Bhulbhule Village with the rewarding views in the backdrop with every step that you take in the heart of the mountains.
You will traverse many stone walls, yak pastures, small settlements, and rhododendron woods on this peaceful route. You will walk past the Taklung Danda and then approach upward the Pikey Peak Base Camp. We will eventually get to the camp after hiking for around 5 to 6 hours.
Today, we will settle here at the camp before continuing our trek toward the summit of Pikey Peak. After resting for some time in the teahouse, you can come outside and enjoy the sweeping panorama of iconic mountains like Sagarmatha (Mt. Everest), Makalu, Kanchenjunga, the Annapurna range, Mera Peak, and others.

Day 5: Ascend to Pikey Peak Summit (4065 meters) for witnessing sunrise and descend to Junbesi
This is the biggest day of your Short Pikey Peak Trek cost package, as you will be conquering the summit of Pikey Peak. We will finish our breakfast first at the Pikey Peak Base Camp and resume our hiking journey. If you wake up before sunrise in the camp, you can witness a gorgeous sunrise over the awe-inspiring Himalayas. The views of the mountains are evident, especially in the morning.
The route to the summit begins with a gentle climb. Several undulating, colorful prayer flags float in the air. The track is well-worn, meandering naturally through open grassy ridges instead of dense forests at this altitude. After a few hours of walking, we will reach the summit of Pikey Peak, standing at a height of 4065 meters above sea level. Day 6: Drive back to Kathmandu
After spending last night at Junbesi in the Solukhumbu region of Nepal, it’s time we head back to Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu City. Before returning, we will enjoy a mouth-watering breakfast with a warm cup of sweet tea or coffee, taking in the natural wonders from the teahouse.
We will travel in a local bus to reach Kathmandu. If you want a more comfortable ride, we can also arrange a jeep for you with a slight cost increment in the Pikey Peak trek package. The bus will drive through terraced farmlands, deep river valleys, scattered lovely settlements, rolling green hills, and forests.
We will also pass through villages like Salleri and Okhaldhunga before joining the main highway. As we get farther from a remote place, the road will be smoother. After sitting for seven to eight hours on a bus, we will finally arrive at the city, where you can feel the vibrant atmosphere after enjoying many days of peacefulness in the Everest region.
When you get off the bus at the bus terminal, our private automobile will be ready to take you to the accommodation. Before returning to your home country tomorrow, you can still enjoy Kathmandu in the evening by visiting the spa, shops, and massages. The market is also a good place to spend your time. In order to prevent traffic delays, we will take you to the airport two or three hours prior to your morning or afternoon departure.
